Non-Illustrative Works
In the Spring of 2025, I studied abroad in Barcelona at ELISAVA School of Design and Engineering, focusing on different subjects of design to branch out from illustration.
Design Classes Included:
Furniture Design
Packaging Design (Graphic)
Advanced Principles in Design
Retail Design and Visual Merchandising
The projects I created during my stay strayed further away from the traditional illustrative style I usually dabble in, experimenting with new forms of design.

Furniture Design
My Own Brief

Formula 1 Magnets with additional ideas for a chair and piggy bank
Project Description
"My Own Brief": Students were tasked to choose any popular brand to design a product for. The product could not be something that they would normally sell, but still had to fit the brand's look and feel.
Second Life Project

Wooden Mini Comb
Project Description
"Second Life Project": Students were given objects taken from the Mercat del Encants in Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes, and tasked to create a second life for their uses.
My Own Chair

ANDRA Lamp
Partnered with Rana Arnaout IG: @ranarnaout
Project Description
"My Own Chair": Students were each given the IKEA IVAR chair and encouraged to turn it into something new, still keeping key elements from the original design to maintain similarities to its visual origin. The HAVSFJADER IKEA lamp light was purchased to be the additional light source.
Packaging Design
Matchbox Project

The Perfect Match by Boy Smells
Project Description
"Matchbox Project": Students were tasked to choose any popular brand to design a matchbox that fit their brand's look and feel. Matchbox designs had to also fit conceptually with the brand and provide reasons matches would be sold through them.
Coffee Project

NOMAD Watercolor Palette
Partnered with Alba Medina
Project Description
"Coffee Project": Students were tasked to choose one of three popular coffee chains in Barcelona to design for. Products, packaging, and branding all had to be designed for the brand we chose, keeping sustainability in mind. We came up with NOMAD's watercolor palette, that would hold watercolor pigments made from used coffee grounds and natural pigments. The box would be biodegradable and used as a planter after disposal.
Advanced Principles in Design
Hack Your Day

Jordan Peele Birthday Cards
Partnered with Alex Pindel
ART ACC IG: @alexpdesigns_
Project Description
"Hack Your Day": Students were put in groups based off of similarities of topics from a previous assigned project. My partner and I had a similar theme of beverages. We then were tasked with making mind maps, trying to find the most interesting parts of our topics. The topic of "Occasion" became the most interesting when it came to beverages, which then morphed into an interest of celebration rituals. Our project needed to exemplify the theme of "Occasion", so we made custom cards in both English and Spanish to celebrate the birthday of the legendary Jordan Peele whose birthday would be just days before the project was due. Many copies were made and handed out to strangers in Barcelona, with some we'd leave in public spaces.
Retail Design and Visual Merchandising
Shop Window

Organized Chaos
Project Description
"Shop Window": Students participated in an exercise where they emptied out their bags to analyze the things inside to create a theme. As a messy person, things in my bag get stained, wet or lost, but still remain confined in one space. This turned into the theme, "Organized Chaos". A 10 x 10" cube was then to be constructed where the contents inside would reflect your theme. Any materials could be used to help with the showcase.
Shop Model

Sensa
Partnered with Natalie Atoui
Lasercut Wood for Final
Styrofoam for small material studies
Project Description
"Shop Model": Students were put into groups of two to create a shop floor plan following the combined themes of students' "shop window" project. My partner and my theme combined became "The Space in Between." We then created a retail experience that resembled walking through the crevices of the grand canyon, with the main product of the shop being body mists. We were tasked with making one small full floor plan model, and an additional bigger corner model that shows representation of how the products would be displayed
